A Long Weekend Ends

I have enjoyed this weekend very much! An extra day off of school is always alright with me. This weekend was pretty busy for me, what with having my license and all! Friday, I had to work, but afterwards I went to pick up one of my friends from school and we drove to my friends sixteenth birthday party. We jammed out to music the whole way and it was pretty fun! So the party is already started when we get there and there were soo many people there! I could barely move! The living room was devoted to Guitar Hero World Tour and all of those who stared enticingly at the 70 inch flat screen. The walls of the dining room were lined with chairs, and the table had disappeared so it was obviously for dancing. And as for the kitchen, well that is pretty self-explanatory. Oh yeah, upstairs was a spare room that was used for playing Sing Star, and DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) where I spent no time at all because I cannot sing... or dance!

Anyway the party was pretty fun and amusing, but the juicy stuff didn't happen until I was about to leave. And when I say juicy, I mean me! As I was leaving there was a cop car sitting idle parallel to my car and I was afraid to go outside. It backed up until its headlights were even with my tail-lights. I got my friend's dad to go outside with me and it wasn't until I got to my car that I realized that where I had chosen to park that I was blocking a driveway. Great, perfect, way to go Seth! I approached the cop car with my friend's dad and the cop was writing the ticket. My friends dad explained that I didn't see where I had parked... Blah Blah Blah, I got off the ticket with a warning but I drove home going ten miles under the speed limit, petrified! It was terrible, but I am glad it happened because I learned to pay more attention! (***Tonya, my mother does not know and I would prefer if it stayed that way!***)

As the weekend continued, I had nothing to do but pick up friends, drive around, listen to music, and go to WaWa. BTW, WaWa is my new favorite restaurant (pathetic). I choose to skip Saturday because it is basically what I just said. Sunday, I pick up my friend and we go to my house and watch Silenceo of the Lambs. It wasn't scary. It was totally boring so we turned if off and watched Eagle Eye, which was my third time watching, and it was amazing. So for the most part, that was my weekend and I am not looking forward to going back to school tomorrow! Thank God for Martin Luther King day! Happy reading...

Today is my 17th birthday, so Happy Birthday to me! After a sleepless night and two long, wholesome hours of fretting and nerves, I passed my road test. I am now a licensed driver of the state of New Jersey and it feels as good as I anticipated!

Ever since I was in the 3rd grade, as I am in 11th grade now, a friend of mine and I composed an idea; we decided, back in third grade, that the day I got my license, the two of us would go to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and get mashed potatoes, biscuits, and tacos (from Taco Bell). Well, I am very proud to announce that today, after school, the two of us pigged out on instant mashed potatoes w/ mystery gravy, sinful biscuits, and ecoli infested tacos; and you know something?; it was damned good!

Obtaining a license to drive is probably one of the most exciting moments in any teenager's life. It feels so strange that I don't have to wait around for someone to come pick me up to take me somewhere. When I feel like it, I can grab the key, put in my favorite mix CD, turn up the bass, and go, go, go!
As I write this post, I am anxiously awaiting the hopeful arrival of my mother and her... ahem... 'boyfriend'. She still has not given me a thing for my birthday (besides a traditional balloon and cake that she didn't make!) and I am so curious --- it has to be something, I mean she didn't even get me a card!; so she must have something up her sleeve... I'll give you all the deets on that later.

Otherwise, you may all be wondering why my blog is titled, "Seth and the City". Well this is why...

If you clever people haven't realized it, the title is sort of a mock or spin-off title, if you will, of the TV series, "Sex and the City". So now you're probably wondering why I would want to base it off a television show based on sex and cosmos. Well I have my reasoning; I am writing a novel of the same name, "Seth and the City", which depicts a character very much like me, in fact the entire novel is based on how I see/how I would like to see myself in three years when I turn twenty.

The novel is about how I move to New York City (Brooklyn) and I strive to achieve my dream of working in Manhattan and writing for a magazine as a journalist. Through the novel/series, I overcome many obstacles as I try to maintain my happiness. I try to move into Manhattan, get a roomy apartment, and take over New York's media by storm. In between stuggling with the New York lifestyle and working for assholes, I write my own novel, in the novel! Yes I know, it is quite exciting. I'll have more information on my novel/series soon...

But back to why I named my blog after my novel... this blog is devoted to my novel and how I, in real life, will journey on and overcome obstacles on my way to the top: New York City. I'll be blogging about my real life stories and exciting adventures I embark on with my new license!

We'll see what kind of trouble I can invoke in my last few years of being a teenager (haha!).
Thank you for reading, stay tuned for more... subscribe, subscribe, subscribe!
